Recreational activities include hiking, bird watching, berry picking, wild flower observation, picnicking, and dog trials by permit. Events include the Nature Playgroup, sharptail grouse viewing and our annual meeting.
Each year at dawn on certain spring mornings, sharptail grouse with romance on their minds head for the dance floor. It’s a fascinating courtship ritual in which males dance and strut while females watch from the sidelines, waiting to see which birds are the best dancers. Sign up on our Events page.
Join us for our annual meeting! This year’s meeting will be held on Thursday, June 8th, at 6:00 pm in the Solon Springs Community Center. We will have a presentation of the “Grand Foot Path” followed by a stroll at the Bird Sanctuary. Dessert will be served. You don’t need to be a member to enjoy the day which includes a speaker and hike through the sanctuary. Bring friends!
