On July 17, 2004 a FOTBS birding class and field trip was held at the Douglas County Wildlife Management Area to inaugurate our new birding group.  The class, "Birds and bird habitat in Douglas County"  was taught by Steve LaValley, Wisconsin DNR.

Steve also lead a field trip that covered both brush/forest and pine barrens habitats on the DCWMA.  About 30 species were identified.
